Wayne was first appointed to the position of sole assessor, for the town of Malone in August of 1996, and reappointed to his current six year term in 2001.

This position requires New York State certification and continuing education.

Wayne first received "State Certified Assessor, Advance" status on 07/17/1995, while serving on the Board of Assessors for the Town of Ellenburg.
