The Town of Malone Dog Control Officer, Penny Landry, will be conducting the 2024 door to door dog enumeration, beginning within the VILLAGE of Malone, with a start date of March 1, 2024. From that date forward, any dog, four months of age or older, within the Town of Malone, found to be unlicensed, or having a license renewal more than 2 months overdue, shall be charged a $25 enumeration fee in addition to the cost of a license. A Summons to appear in court will be issued to those who continue to remain out of compliance with the law.
New York State and local laws require that all dogs 4 months of age or older, are to be vaccinated for rabies and licensed in their town of residence. In Malone, dog licensing is done through the office of Town Clerk Abby Monica at 27 Airport Road, Malone NY 12953, between the hours of 9-4 weekdays. A current certificate of rabies vaccination (and a spay or neuter certificate if applicable) must be provided at the time of licensing.

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING DOG LICENSING:
New York State and local law require that all dogs, four months of age and older, be vaccinated for rabies and licensed in their town of residence. In Malone, dog licensing is done through the Office of the Malone Town Clerk, 27 Airport Road. A current certificate of rabies vaccination (and certificate of spay or neuter, if applicable) must be provided at the time of licensing.
The cost for dog licensing in Malone is: $13.00 for a spayed female or neutered male dog ($5.00 for senior dog owners 65+) $21.00 for an unspayed female or unneutered male dog ($13.00 for senior dog owners 65+)
The Town of Malone will be conducting an ongoing door-to-door dog census (enumeration) in the Town and Village which will be done annually. Dog Control Officer, Penny Landry, and staff will be looking for dogs that are unlicensed, or overdue for licensing, and will urge their owners to bring them into compliance with the law. Failure to do so could result in further legal action.
For any dog found to be unlicensed (or having a license renewal 2+ months overdue) an enumeration fee of $25.00 will be added to the above costs.
